Hi, I’m Gordon
For many years, much of my work has centred around one simple thing: helping people.
Through counselling training, social prescribing, community involvement and everyday conversations, I’ve seen how much difference it can make when somebody feels genuinely listened to.
That’s one of the reasons I created SafeSpace.
Why SafeSpace exists
Loneliness doesn’t always mean being alone.
You can have a job, family, friends and a busy life, yet still feel there’s nobody you can really talk to.
For younger men, it might be friendship difficulties, rejection, relationships, social anxiety or the pressure to appear as though everything is fine.
For somebody older, it might be retirement, living alone, changing relationships or simply missing everyday conversation.
And sometimes, there’s no particular problem at all. You just want someone to talk to.
SafeSpace is somewhere you can have that conversation without judgement.
A little about my background
My experience includes counselling training, social prescribing and community wellbeing work.
I’m also involved in local community activities, including Men United, where creating opportunities for men to connect and talk is particularly important to me.
These experiences have reinforced something I strongly believe:
People don’t always need advice. Sometimes they simply need someone who will listen.
What SafeSpace offers
SafeSpace provides friendly, informal conversation for adults aged 18 and over.
Your first 15-minute conversation is free.
If you’d like to continue, a 30-minute conversation costs £15.
We can talk through WhatsApp, Messenger or Google Meet.
There are no packages, no pressure and no obligation.
SafeSpace is not a counselling, therapy or emergency crisis service.
Let’s CONNECT
You don’t need to prepare anything or know exactly what you want to say.
Whether you’re feeling lonely, have something on your mind or would simply appreciate a conversation, you’re welcome to get in touch.
